Today is a really fun review. I love this product. We got it last summer before we travelled back to the US with our then two year old and I immediately fell in love with it. The Diggin Skootcase is a ride on suit case for your little buddy and it doubles as airport entertainment. Win/win, in my book!

Diggin Skootcase Review

The Skootcase is first and foremost, a suit case. You can pack all your child’s clothes in the suit case and they can carry it/ride it through the airport – leaving your hands free for your own luggage. The internal luggage compartment is not huge – you’d have a hard time packing for a week long, ski trip vacation – but it’s decent for your child’s clothes, which presumably are small anyway. I’ve had no problem packing my toddler’s clothes for a weekend getaway in the suitcase. Anything more than a weekend away and I’ve had to pack the overflow clothes in my own suit case. When we used it last summer to go back to the US for two weeks, we actually only packed it full of a spare set of clothes, a pair of PJs, some books and toys, and little odds and ends you would want in a carry-on.

It works great as a carry-on because it is made to fit perfectly in the overhead bin. And because it’s not too large, it doesn’t get heavy. The Skootcase itself doesn’t weigh much at all, meaning you won’t be struggling to lift it above your head, even if it is full.

The Skootcase doubles as in-airport entertainment (and vacation entertainment, at home entertainment, etc). While we were sitting at our gate waiting for our plane to board, Harry was gliding around on his Skootcase. He was having a blast and we had so many other passengers asking about it. It features a full steering column which makes it very easy for even younger toddlers to steer. Parents are even able to pull the Skootcase along behind them with the included strap (something we did through the whole airport to much excitement) or use the strap to carry the Skootcase over their shoulder when the rider gets tired.

The sturdy rubber wheels make it easy for the Skootcase to take on any terrain, within reason. It does tend to tip from side to side if your toddler is going to fast around a corner, though that only happened to us when one of us was pulling Harry on it.

Harry loves his Skootcase, and honestly so do I. Aside from how cute it is, and it’s super cute, it’s a very practical “bag” for trips with our toddler. It’s few flaws (smaller capacity and tendency to tip when turning quickly) are greatly overshadowed by it’s convenience, it’s design, and it’s ability to entertain a toddler on a long trip. Highly, highly recommended.
